# Price by market

Change prices and compare-at prices for one Shopify Market at a time.

If you sell in several Shopify Markets with market-specific prices, use the fields **Price by market** and **Compare at price by market**. They work like [Price and compare-at price](/bulk-price-editor-sami/field-guides/price-and-compare-at-price.md) but write to the price of one market instead of the base price.

## How to use it

1. Select **Price by market** (or **Compare at price by market**) on the **Choose a Field to Edit** page.
2. In **Apply to market**, choose the market. A task targets exactly one market. Create another task for each additional market.
3. Choose the **Edit method**, **Value** and **Rounding** exactly as for the base price.
4. Optionally set the linked **Compare at price** (or **Price**) for the same market.
5. Pick the products and variants, check the preview and save.

The **Preview** and the **Product changes** table show amounts in the market's currency. The task details page lists the market the change was applied to.

## Differences from the base price fields

* **One market per task.** The **Apply to market** list is required.
* **Compare at price by market** does not offer **Set to null/blank**.
* The base price is never changed by these fields. To change the base price, use **Price** or **Compare at price**.
* If the market is deleted in Shopify later, the task details page shows **Market deleted** in place of its name.

{% hint style="info" %}
Older tasks may show an **Apply this price change to specific Shopify markets** option on the Price field. That option has been replaced by the dedicated market fields described here.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.samita.io/bulk-price-editor-sami/field-guides/price-by-market.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
