## Edit methods

| Edit method | What it does |
| --------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Add and remove tags** (default) | Adds the tags in **Add tags** and removes the tags in **Remove tags**. Other tags on the product stay untouched. You can fill one box or both. |
| **Replace all tags** | Deletes every existing tag and sets the tags in **New tags**. Leave the box empty to remove all tags. |

Type a tag and press **Enter** (or pick **Add** in the dropdown) to add it to the list. Click the **×** on a tag to remove it from the list.

## Examples

* **Start a flash sale.** Add tags `flash-sale`, remove tags `sale`. Products tagged `sale` lose that tag and gain `flash-sale`.
* **Clean up.** Choose **Replace all tags** and leave **New tags** empty to strip all tags from the selected products.
* **Tag by vendor.** Add tags with the dynamic variable `{{ product.vendor }}` to tag each product with its own vendor name. See [Dynamic variables](/bulk-price-editor-sami/field-guides/dynamic-variables.md).

## Preview and revert

The preview shows the current tag list and the new tag list for each product. In **Product changes**, added tags are highlighted and removed tags are struck through.

Reverting the task removes the tags it added and restores the tags it removed.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.samita.io/bulk-price-editor-sami/field-guides/tags.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
