Task errors and warnings
What the Failed and Partially complete statuses mean and how to fix them.
When a task or a revert does not finish cleanly, the status badge becomes Failed or Partially complete and an error banner appears in the Task status or Revert status card. On the Tasks list, click the badge to see the same message.

Products skipped without an error
Some products are skipped on purpose and do not produce an error:
Text edits whose result would be empty keep the original value.
Price methods based on the compare-at price or cost skip variants where that source value is empty.
Metafield edits that produce a value Shopify rejects skip that product.
Delete variants by option value skips products where every variant matches, because a product must keep one variant.
Create new option with Create variants skips products that would exceed 2048 variants.
