# Rename, notes and archive

Rename a task, attach a note for your team, and archive tasks you no longer need to see.

## Rename

**Rename** is available for tasks in **Completed**, **Recurring completed** and **Manual start** status. Choose it from the **⋮** menu or the task details page, type the new **Task name** (up to 255 characters) and click **Save**.

Scheduled tasks are renamed by editing the task: open it and change **Task name**.

## Notes

Every task can carry one note of up to 1000 characters, for example why the task exists or who asked for it. Choose **Note** from the **⋮** menu, or click the pencil in the **Note** card on the task details page. Type the text and click **Save**.

Tasks with a note show a note icon next to their name in the Tasks list; hover it to read the note. Notes can be added to archived tasks too.

## Archive and unarchive

Archiving hides a task from the **All** and status tabs without deleting it. It keeps the product change history.

**Archive** is available for one-time tasks that are **Completed** or **Manual start** and are not currently scheduled to revert, and for **Recurring completed** tasks. Choose **Archive** from the **⋮** menu or the task details page.

To bring a task back, open the **Archived** tab, open the **⋮** menu and choose **Unarchive**. Archived tasks cannot be run, rescheduled, reverted or duplicated until they are unarchived.

{% hint style="info" %}
Tasks cannot be deleted. Use **Archive** to keep the list tidy.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.samita.io/bulk-price-editor-sami/manage-tasks/rename-note-archive.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
