# App language

Change the language of the app's admin interface.

The app's own interface — buttons, labels, help text — can be shown in any of nineteen languages. The setting is in the dashboard footer.

## Change it

1. Open the app's **Dashboard**.
2. Scroll to the footer, beside the **Documentation** and **Chat with support** links.
3. Click the language button and pick a language from the list.

The interface switches in place — no reload — and the app confirms with a "Language changed" message.

## Available languages

🇺🇸 English (Default) · 🇨🇳 Chinese (Simplified) · 🇨🇳 Chinese (Traditional) · 🇨🇿 Czech · 🇩🇰 Danish · 🇳🇱 Dutch · 🇫🇮 Finnish · 🇫🇷 French · 🇩🇪 German · 🇮🇹 Italian · 🇯🇵 Japanese · 🇰🇷 Korean · 🇳🇴 Norwegian (Bokmål) · 🇵🇱 Polish · 🇵🇹 Portuguese (Brazil) · 🇵🇹 Portuguese (Portugal) · 🇪🇸 Spanish · 🇸🇪 Swedish · 🇹🇷 Turkish

## It's saved to your store

Your choice is stored against your store, so the app opens in that language next time — including for anyone else with access to it.

{% hint style="warning" %}
This changes the admin interface only. It does not change a single word on your storefront. To change what shoppers read, edit the countdown's text and, if you sell in several languages, translate it — see [Translate countdown text](/samita-countdown-timer-bar/design-and-translation/translate.md).
{% endhint %}

## Two different language settings

| Setting                   | Changes                                         | Where                                      |
| ------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| **App language** | The app's admin interface, for you | Dashboard footer |
| **Countdown translation** | The text shoppers read, per storefront language | Language switcher in the countdown builder |

They're independent. You can run the admin in Vietnamese while your countdowns speak English and French to shoppers.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.samita.io/samita-countdown-timer-bar/settings/app-language.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
