# Welcome to Sami B2B Onboarding

Collect wholesale applications on your storefront, review them in one place, and turn approved buyers into Shopify companies with their terms.

Sami B2B Onboarding turns your Shopify store into a place where businesses can apply for a wholesale account. A buyer fills in an application form on your storefront. You review it in the app. When you approve it, the app creates the customer and the company in Shopify, applies your terms and emails the buyer that their account is live.

The app is ready to use the moment you install it. It comes with a published **Wholesale application** form and a page on your store that shows it. Turn on the app embed, and you can take your first application in a few minutes.

## Who it's for

Stores that sell to businesses, alongside retail or instead of it. Take a café-supply wholesaler: cafés apply, you check who they are, and only approved cafés see wholesale prices and reach checkout.

Your team works in the app in two roles. Admins set the app up. Reviewers work through the applications.

## What you can do

* **Collect applications.** Edit the ready-made form or build your own, with rules, uploads and several pages. Share its page, or place it anywhere in your theme.
* **Review in one place.** Every application lands in **Companies › Applications**. Approve it, ask the buyer for more information, or reject it, one at a time or several at once.
* **Approve into Shopify.** Approval creates the Shopify customer and company with the details the buyer gave. An approval preset adds the terms: catalog, payment terms, checkout and tax settings.
* **Control who buys.** Hide prices and add to cart, lock the store, and block checkout until a buyer is approved.
* **Automate the routine.** Rules decide clear-cut applications for you. Tax ID checks verify EU VAT numbers. Shopify Flow, Klaviyo and webhooks pick up each event.
* **Look after approved buyers.** Buyers follow their application and manage their own company from their customer account.

## Requirements

* **Online Store.** The form and the store access rules run in your theme through the app embed. Shopify doesn't switch app embeds on for you, so you do it once. See [Turn on the app embed](/sami-b2b-onboarding/getting-started/turn-on-the-app-embed.md).
* **A plan that includes B2B, for companies.** Shopify only creates companies on plans with B2B. Without it, approval still creates the customer and turns on **B2B approved** on their customer page, the company stays in the app's **Companies** list, and your store access rules treat the buyer as approved.
* **Customer accounts, for the account pages.** The pages the app adds to your buyers' accounts need Shopify's customer accounts, not legacy customer accounts.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.samita.io/sami-b2b-onboarding/getting-started/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
